Orthopaedic Manual Physiotherapist & Integrative Health Practitioner
Laurel Doman leads a specialist physiotherapy practice in Bryanston, Sandton, built on a foundation of orthopaedic manual therapy and a commitment to treating the whole person — not just the presenting condition. Her practice manages a diverse caseload spanning chronic pain, corporate health conditions, sport injuries, and complex post-operative rehabilitation.
What distinguishes Laurel's approach is her integration of traditional, evidence-based manual physiotherapy with holistic, whole-body treatment modalities — including her signature Integrative Touch method. This combined framework allows her to address both the structural and systemic contributors to a patient's condition, producing outcomes that more conventional approaches often cannot achieve alone.
Her reputation speaks for itself: patients travel from Cape Town and across South Africa specifically to receive her care — a testament to the clinical results and patient experience she consistently delivers.
I believe that lasting recovery comes from understanding the whole person — their structure, their patterns, and their story. Manual therapy is my foundation, but real healing requires more than technique alone.
— Laurel Doman
Laurel Doman Physiotherapy is built around four distinct clinical pillars — each requiring advanced training and a precision-led approach that goes well beyond standard physiotherapy.
Highly skilled, hands-on treatment of joints, muscles, and connective tissue to resolve pain and restore function. This evidence-based approach targets the structural root cause of musculoskeletal conditions — not just the symptoms — delivering precise, lasting results for complex orthopaedic presentations.
Specialised occupational physiotherapy addressing workplace injuries, postural dysfunction, and chronic pain driven by sedentary or high-demand work environments. Services include ergonomic workstation assessments, corporate wellness programmes, and injury prevention strategies that reduce absenteeism and support employee performance.
Structured return-to-sport protocols and sports injury recovery programmes designed around each athlete's discipline, goals, and timeline. Treatment integrates manual therapy with functional movement rehabilitation to rebuild strength, mobility, and confidence — getting athletes back to peak performance safely and sustainably.
Carefully staged recovery programmes following orthopaedic surgery — from initial healing through to full functional restoration. Each protocol is coordinated with surgical outcomes and individual healing timelines, ensuring optimal tissue recovery, joint stability, and a confident return to daily life and activity.
A distinctive 1.5-hour experience that fuses advanced manual physiotherapy with holistic integrative approaches for whole-body healing. Rather than treating a single symptom in isolation, Integrative Touch addresses the interconnected physical, structural, and somatic dimensions of health — a defining differentiator that draws patients from as far as Cape Town to Bryanston for treatment unavailable elsewhere in Johannesburg.
From targeted physiotherapy sessions to immersive integrative bodywork, every appointment is built around your body, your goals, and your recovery.
A comprehensive 1-hour session for new or returning patients. We take time to fully assess your condition, understand your history, and begin treatment in the same visit — no separate consultation needed.
A full 1-hour session designed to track your progress and continue your treatment plan. Begins with a brief reassessment to check what's changed, followed by hands-on physiotherapy tailored to where you are in your recovery.
A focused 30-minute session for patients who need targeted treatment without the full appointment time. Ideal if you have a specific, known issue and a busy schedule — efficient, precise, and effective.
A 1.5-hour deep-dive initial session that combines traditional manual physiotherapy with holistic integrative techniques. Designed for patients seeking whole-body healing — addressing not just the physical, but the broader patterns contributing to pain and dysfunction.
A 1.5-hour ongoing integrative session combining manual therapy with holistic techniques. Each follow-up builds on previous work, deepening the treatment and helping your body move toward lasting balance, mobility, and relief.
A 1.5-hour physiotherapy assessment and treatment session delivered in the comfort of your own home. Ideal for patients with limited mobility, post-surgical recovery needs, or those who simply cannot travel to the practice.
An immersive 1.5-hour group breathwork class using powerful, multi-layered breathing techniques paired with a rich, multi-dimensional soundscape. Designed to facilitate deep emotional release, nervous system regulation, and a profound sense of mental clarity. A unique offering that sets Laurel Doman Physiotherapy apart — where clinical expertise meets the deeper dimensions of healing.

Orthopaedic manual physiotherapy is a specialised post-graduate discipline focused on precise, hands-on assessment and treatment of the musculoskeletal system — including joints, muscles, nerves, and connective tissue. It goes beyond general physiotherapy by applying advanced clinical reasoning and specific manual techniques to identify and address the root cause of dysfunction, not just the symptoms. This makes it particularly effective for chronic pain, complex post-operative rehabilitation, and sport injuries that have not responded to standard treatment.
Integrative Touch is a 1.5-hour treatment modality that combines traditional manual physiotherapy with holistic healing approaches to treat the whole person — body, mind, and nervous system — rather than an isolated injury site. It is well suited to patients dealing with chronic conditions, stress-related physical tension, burnout, or complex presentations where a purely mechanical approach has not delivered lasting relief. It is also popular with patients seeking a more restorative, deeply therapeutic experience alongside their physical treatment.
